How to Enter

All retailers are encouraged to enter their achievements made between July 2011 and June 2012.

To enter you will need to:

  • Complete an entry form either via the post or on-line. All retailers may enter for more than one award but this must be done as two seperate entries on individual nomination foms.
  • Provide an entry summary outlining the nature of your achievement and why you should be considered for an award
  • Include any other supporting material including photographs, POS, media features and testimonials etc. Customers may show support to a retail business by completing an official form stating their reasons for wishing to give that retailer a personal accolade.
  • Submit your entry to us by the closing date of Monday 2nd July 2012. If you are entering by post, please return your entry to: Reading Retail Awards 2012, C/O The Event Crew Ltd. Chippendale Lodge, Tokers Green Lane, Reading, Berks, RG4 9EB. Entries can also be hand delivered to the information desks in both The Broad Street Mall and The Oracle shopping centres.

Judging Process - This will be in the form of 3 steps:

     1.  The judging panel will analyse all entries and materials returned to us by the closing date of the 2nd July 2012.
     2.  Those entries shortlisted may be visited by the judging panel from week commencing the 16th July.
     3.  All the finalists will be notified by Friday the 3rd August 2012 and invited to the awards dinner and ceremony taking place on the evening of Friday the 7th September 2012 at The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading.

 

Terms and Conditions of entry:

  1. The Reading Retail Awards 2012 are free to enter and are open to all retailers and its employees within the borough of Reading excluding those on the organising body.
  2. Entries are treated in confidence.
  3. All entries must be supported by supplementary evidence where required.
  4. Supporting information is not permitted unless it forms part of the entry document e.g. testimonials, photographs, editorial.
  5. Entries may need to be qualified by the judges in terms of an interview or staff or customer testimonials.
  6. Entries will be judged at by an independent and impartial panel of judges. 
  7. Those entries shortlisted will be notified by the 11th July 2012.
  8. Award finalists will be invited to the Awards dinner on the 7th September 2012 at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium Reading.
  9. Entry to more than one category is allowed on individual nomination forms.
  10. Applicants must be authorised to enter their organisation into the awards programme.
  11. Entries should be in English. 
  12. Incomplete entries will not be judged.
  13. Nomination forms will become the property of the organising body but can be returned by collection.
  14. Proof of sending entry (by email) will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  15. Winning entries will be publicised.  Applicants are responsible for making any appropriate arrangements.
  16. The organising body reserves the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
  17. The closing date for entries is the 2nd July 2012.
  18. The judges’ decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  19. Acceptance of an invite to the awards ceremony infers permission for the organisers to use any photos, audio and videos taken for future marketing purposes.
